In Wild Hearts, there are plenty of small details that can be easy to forget. In this post about Wild Hearts Tips, you will learn about the most important tips to help you in and out of your hunts!
Food:
Food can be eaten to gain bonus stats for a long duration. These bonuses aren’t small, and there are certain Karakuri structures that allow you to process food. This food can be eaten for greater effects compared to their unprocessed counterparts! Generally, meat gives attack boosts, fish gives fatigue reduction, and vegetables give defensive boosts. Don’t be stingy eating food, and the effects persist even if you faint or fail a hunt!
Shrines:
There are other Karakuri structures called Shrines that passively collect materials. Having both Ore Shrines and Food Shrines allows you to skip some material gathering on the map. This can save time and also generate gold because you can sell excess materials.
Shop:
The shop refreshes after every hunt, allowing you to buy food that can be hard to find! However, more importantly is the fact that you can sell prized monster parts. This produces lots of gold, and there’s no other use for these parts.
Hunter’s Arm:
It took me a while to figure out what Hunter’s Arm was. To utilize it, you have to know that you can actually climb onto Kemono just like walls. If you move to a glowing green spot on the Kemono while climbing, you can activate Hunter’s Arm. This gives you tons of Karakuri thread and some healing water, allowing you to go over the limit and build multiple structures. Being able to utilize Hunter’s Arm can make Kemono far easier to fight due to the surplus of thread and bonus healing water.
Hunting Towers:
Make sure to leave at least 15 water element from your Dragon Pits left over! This allows you to build a Hunting Tower on the fly. Building one of these allows you to scan the area around you for Kemono, making finding them much easier. After scanning, you can just deconstruct the Hunting Tower after determining the Kemono’s location, or move to another location if you didn’t detect any Kemono. Even better, if you have tons of water element, you can place Hunting Towers to cover the entire map! There’s also a Hunting Tower upgrade in the Karakuri upgrade tree which allows them to detect Tsukumo to befriend!
Tsukumo:
Upgrading your Tsukumo at a campfire not only increases its combat power, but it can also increase your maximum amount of Karakuri Thread! This can be a major help when fighting Kemono given the strength of Karakuri.
Food Storage:
I recommend having your food storage containers outside of Minoto. Minoto has a limited amount of elements to put Food Containers down, so you might run out of food storage space early on. I did this in the photo above, so learn from my mistakes! There’s also an event later in the game that can jeopardize the safety of your food containers in Minoto. I was a victim of this, and it was quite frustrating, so try putting food containers elsewhere!
General Weapon:
Some weapon upgrades have elemental damage attached to it, usually at the cost of less raw damage. This can make certain Kemono much easier to fight, but others much harder. I recommend having one general non-elemental weapon to use against any Kemono. I had a fire element weapon, and against certain Kemono the fire damage it deals does nothing, making the fights take far longer. Even though it can cost a large amount of materials to make another weapon, having a general weapon is great. If you want to put in extra effort, it’s also satisfying to have multiple different weapons that can each counter a different type of Kemono!
Dragon Pits:
Don’t underestimate the power of Dragon Karakuri! It’s easy to forget about upgrading your Dragon Pits in order to build more Dragon Karakuri. However, you can actually upgrade Dragon Pits from your map! This makes the process of upgrading them much easier then going to each individual Dragon Pit to upgrade them.
Excess Materials:
If you collect everything you see, you may have far more materials than you need. If so, you can sell these materials at the shop for a bit of gold! For everything except food, having over 50 of it is probably more than you’ll need for a long while.
Creatures:
You unlock creature cages later on, which allow you to harvest materials from a creature you put inside. Each creature gives a specific material, so finding the one you like best can be great (you can see these materials in the logbook for creatures)! However, if you have more than 10 of a specific creature, you probably have more than you’ll ever need. That means that you can sell some for extra income!
Find New Karakuri:
On the Karakuri upgrade tree, some upgrades require certain conditions. Usually you need to fight a specific Kemono with specific Basic Karakuri equipped. The upgrades will also usually tell you which Kemono and what Karakuri you need. These new structures can be extremely useful in later fights, so try unlocking the ones that you can! The one in the photo has been particularly useful for me after unlocking it.
Restorative Baths:
Restorative baths actually permanently increase your maximum health! I never knew what they did for the longest time, but after figuring it out they became my top priority.
These were the best tips that we have so far, and we hope that your hunts improve because of them! Good luck hunting!
