Best Halo Infinite Forge Maps to Download

With the long-awaited release of Halo Infinite’s promised Forge mode behind us, the Halo community has been hard at work forging both custom, all new game modes along with complete jokes of maps for the player base to enjoy. After running some customs with friends, here are the best Halo Infinite forge maps I’ve found in Halo Infinite’s Forge browser.

Lockout remake by Uneeq

Battle Rifles and Snipers are only as good as the spaces you shoot them in, and its hard to think of a better space than Halo 2’s Lockout. A remake of one of the most beloved multiplayer maps of all time, Forger Uneeq has given Halo 2’s Lockout new life within the Halo Infinite engine, and it still plays just as well as it did in the early 2000s. For any long-time Halo fans like me looking for a nostalgia kick or just a fun map to have a Slayer match with your friends in, Lockout is a must-play on the list of Halo Infinite Forge maps.

You can download the map here on Halo Waypoint

MW2 High Rise by HollywoodForge

Nostalgia is a helluva drug, and I’d be lying if I said there were many maps that weren’t as nostalgic to me as 2009’s High Rise from Modern Warfare 2. This classic map can be played with up to 24 players in Halo Infinite, and offers the same vertical gameplay and long sight lines and choke points of the classic High Rise from way back when. You can download it here.

Waffle House by Unknown

I’ve long said that the local Waffle House is the coliseum of America, and now with Halo Infinite’s forge, it has become the UNSC’s premier combat training ground. This one, if I’m being honest, was more of a joke than an actual map. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have tons of fun duking it out in America’s chosen battleground. You can download it here. And remember, “If ya Waffle House cook ain’t outside smoking when you pull up, it wont be good.”

Repul-Soccer by Bob-Is-Here

Repulsor soccer is one of those additions that I never really thought of, but seems so obvious. Equipping the opposing teams with energy swords, repul soccer’s objective is simple: get the “kill ball” in the net. Easier said than done, however, as the ball’s hitbox kills you on contact and repulsors are your only defense, along with individual fights breaking out across the pitch. Repul soccer is a great demonstration of casual modes within Halo Infinite’s sandbox and makes for a good match or 2 of fun in between more competitive game types. You can download it here.

Duck Hunt

Another rehash of a classic, the “duck hunt” community game mode has been around since Halo 3 in 2007. A simple yet effective premise: One player with a sniper, the rest with nothing ranged, with the unarmed players attempting to reach the end of an obstacle course and the sniper trying to pick them off on the way. There’s endless variations of this map, but the one I used can be found here.

Guardian Remake by Flaco

Taking the cake as my favorite multiplayer map of all time, this stunning Guardian remake by Flaco captures just about every detail from 2007 and places it in 2022. Even more impressive is that it still plays well all these years later, and is the perfect map for a FFA with your friends. Download it here

Uber Octagon

Halo custom veterans will undoubtedly be familiar with Octagon, a simple octagonal layout designed for nonstop action with a small amount of players. Octagon has always acted as a perfect warmup option when starting a session and remains so to this day. Uber Octagon acts as an aesthetically pleasing revamp of a classic layout, and you can download it here

Chiron TL-34 by NovAneurysm and iChillyz

Chiron TL-34 in game by NovAneurysm and iChillyz

Another blast from the past, Chiron TL-34 was possibly the weirdest map in all of 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved, which was already known for its weird maps. Consisting of several independent spaces all linked together with teleporters, matches in Chiron quickly devolve into head-pounding mystery mazes interspersed by sudden and violent 1v1s, and NovAneurysm and iChillyz have crafted an authentic, near 1:1 recreation of this head-scratcher.

Banished Narrows by AgelitoCO

Banished Narrows in game by AgelitoCO

In my opinion, Banished Narrows wins the award for the most impressive of Halo Infinite Forge maps I’ve seen so far. Not only faithfully recreating the map flow and layout of Halo 3’s Narrows, but accounting for differences in movement and weapons in Halo Infinite, with some structural changes made to account for changes in Halo Infinite’s gameplay. Even with a lower player count or with bots, Banished Narrows demands to be added to the public matchmaking pool for making such an interesting and faithful modern take on a classic. You can download it here.

And that’s all for now! I have my problems with Halo Infinite as a both a long time fan and consumer, but I’d be lying if I said the forge didn’t come out swinging with possibly the most impressive and customizable edition to date, and I can’t wait to see what the community does with the impressive tools made by 343 Industries here. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it and waiting to jump back in with some friends once more of Forge’s potential is unlocked.
